[YouTube-API] Is there some sort of "Beta" YouTube player api for android

Knowing that the new api was announced at the 2012 Google i/o and according to some news articles about it, it will released within a few months time. But it will be too late to be used in my project by then.So is there a some sort of pre-release version of youtube player api for android? Or is it just simply not released yet..
