[YouTube-API] Is there a way to pause/unpause mute/unmute Youtube instream video ads with the chromeless flash player?

Hello Youtube!

I have an Actionscript 3.0 Flash application that loads the Youtube chromeless player and plays Youtube videos by ID. Problem is some of them have in-stream video ads attached and I need to find a way to give the user the possibility to mute/unmute or pause/play the ads just like in the embedded flash player.

Been searching for quite a while now for a way to pause/ play, mute or unmute in-stream video ads, be it prerolls, midrolls or postrolls. I see if I use the standard issued AS3 API nothing happens. Also some videos that show ads when viewed on Youtube do not show up when used in the player API demo page so it is quite hard to test on it.

Now my question is : is there a way to detect if a video ad is playing and use the AS3 Youtube API to pause/play, mute/unmute the in-stream video ads without breaking any ToS ?

Hoping to hearing from you soon,
Claudiu.
