[YouTube-API] Thumbnails in higher quality

I'm developing a website that contains all of our Youtube-uploaded videos. We have some carousels that displays the thumbnail that is imported from Youtube and this is the general thumbnailsize.
However we're a partner, so I always uploads a custom thumbnail in the size 1280 x 960px for use in our videos. Would it be possible for us, automatically through the API to use this custom thumbnail instead?

Then we could resize it when importing, but be able to use bigger images without the need of stretching the thumbnails, which look awful...
