I too have seen the same behaviour, starting a few days ago. Some accounts report back 0 subscriptions, others get some of them, apparently randomly.
I have tried to query gdata.youtube.com by IP and got the same results:
Old ip: 173.194.35.41
New Ip: 173.194.78.118
