[YouTube-API] Newbie: Getting started?

Hi

I've been working on an ASP.NET/VB website that allows members to upload photos about certain topics, e.g. types of flowers. In this scenario, I have

1) A page that allows them to upload photos and tag them by flower type.

2) A page that displays up to 200 thumbnails (160x120) by flower type, e.g. all "Roses"

Now I want to also allow them to upload videos.

Questions:

1) What steps do I need to take to allow them to upload videos from my site (hosted by Youtube)? I have a button on each category page (e.g. "Tulips") labeled "Upload Videos" which when clicked takes them to the upload page?

2) Once a video is uploaded, can I immediately get its unique ID so I can store that in my site's SQL table so I can associate it with other properties I may choose, e.g. color, region, smell description?

2) How can I also include thumbnails of the uploaded videos along with my photo thumbnails?

TIA
Mark
