[YouTube-API] Authing users without YouTube accounts, but with Google accounts - why does it set valid token?

HI guys,

I've noticed that if I get visitors to auth and they don't have a
YouTube account, they get the 401 error saying NoLinkedYouTubeAccount
(which I understand). What I don't get is why a valid token is still
passed back in the query string. Is is meant to happen?
