There are no current plans to extend the data returned in the JSON-C
format. It's much friendly to parse than alt=json and is appropriate
for many use cases, but in this particular case, using alt=json is
more appropriate.
You're correct that the warning message on that pages gives a
different impression, and I'll work with the documentation team to get
that changed.
