Can you try using version 3 of the embedded player instead of the
default version (version 2)? You can do this by adding "&version=3" to
the end of the URL parameters, e.g.
https://www.youtube.com/v/C9STtcwo0xE?enablejsapi=1&version=3
I believe there are some lingering issues with HTTPS streaming and
version 2 (which is deprecated) of the player.
