Apologies for any frustration.

That error message you show is normal Java App Engine cruft that
unfortunately gets logged when a new instance of the server is spun
up. You can ignore it.

The info about PurgeBlobstorePhotos using X CPU is also benign.

If you want to troubleshoot this yourself, you could try switching
your App Engine log viewer to Debug level and see if there's anything
that stands out from around the time that a failure occurred (other
than that message you already posted). I would assume that the issue
has something to do with bad metadata being entered on the upload
form, so getting a screenshot of what's being entered client-side
might also be useful for troubleshooting. You can pass that along
directly to my email address.
