but I found one more interesting fact that the above APIs work in incognito window. And i have verified the issue without any addon on chrome, in normal and incognito modes both.
The issue can be verified by running a youtube video on your page (like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY) and once the video starts running this JavaScript in console: document.getElementsByTagName("embed")[0].getVideoBytesTotal()
